Chinese to Australia and New Zealand: Spend Money and Drink Milk

By CSC staff,Shanghai

China has surpassed UK as Australia's most valuable tourism market, Australian government's tourism department survey suggested. Chinese travelers, who represented the fourth largest visitor numbers at 431,369 in 2010, spent the largest amount among all international tourists at AUD3.1bn. China purchased about 353mn kilograms of New Zealand's milk products in 2010, jumped five-fold from 69 million kilograms in 2008.

What's scarce in China? Not just iron ore. Good air, blue sky, clean water and beautiful scenes after years of pollution…and food safety. In Hong Kong, one of the freest economies in the world, many shops restrict the amount of purchase of Mead-Johnson milk powder per visit.
